Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Spin-Off Film Planned

John Hughes‘ 1986 classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is one of those movies that, while it is considered all but untouchable, has been homaged, referenced and spoofed for years. Oh, and it was briefly a sitcom. Still, no one has really tried to spin it off, but Paramount is making that move, looking to put a film about the valets from the movie into production.

“Valets,” we hear you ask. “What valets?” At one point in Ferris Bueller, the lead trio of Ferris (Matthew Broderick), Cameron (Alan Ruck) and Sloane (Mia Sara) drop Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari off with a couple of parking attendants.

After ‘Karate Kid’, ‘Cobra Kai’ Creators Are off to Revive Another Film Universe From the 1980s

The Karate Kid series has been a real meditative treat for the viewers all these years. The treat extended when we saw a spin-off of the classic movie sequences as Cobra Kai. The show follows the lives of Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso after 34 years of their final fight. The show includes more drama and modern touch as well. Now, we are about to see the fifth season of the show. Meanwhile, the creators of the spinoff show are planning another spin-off of another 80s movie.

The hotel that inspired ‘Dirty Dancing’ has burned down

(CNN) —

Somebody put Baby in a corner: the remains of an upstate New York hotel that inspired the movie “Dirty Dancing” have burned down, according to the local fire department. The property, which was called Grossinger’s Catskill Resort Hotel, closed its doors in 1986.

An August 17 notice posted on the Facebook page for the Liberty, New York fire department reads, “multiple calls into Sullivan (County) 911 reported a large structure on fire at the old Grossinger’s Hotel property.”

The post continued to say that firefighters had trouble reaching the source of the blaze because the area was overgrown, and once the fire was put out “an excavator was brought into the scene to knock down the structure.”
